Fall Leaf Print

What you Need:

Fresh moist fall leaves

Unbleached muslin material (available at any material store)

Scissors

Glue

Old newspapers

Hammer

Heavy paper like a grocery bag or construction paper

Grocery sack for leaf retrieval

Hard work surface

1. Go outside and pick up fall leaves. Different colors and shapes are nice to work with.

2. Using scissors cut your muslin material to desired size. (12 by 12 squares work best)

3. Place old newpaper on a hard working surface. This will help to keep the color from "bleeding" through the material and onto the floor.

4. Place muslin on prepared hard work surface. Place one leaf anywhere on material.

5. Using your hammer, bang on the entire leaf. Continue to place one leaf at a time on your material, and hammer each one completely. You can overlap parts of leaves as well.

6. When finished with leaf prints, cut heavy paper in a frame design. Remember to cut the inside hole smaller than the actual picture for easier attachment.

7. Glue leaf print to back side of paper frame. Be sure to make the brighter side of the print the side everyone will see.

8. Wash your hands and hang it up. You are done!
